CAPS TEAM RUINS FIRST FRIDAYS
Earlier in the day Casey heard that the CAPS team would be harrasing the galleries on broad street so I was not shocked when I saw the police officers shutting down the fire spinners infront of Gallery Five. The fire spinners have been active on first fridays for over 5 years.The calvary was also enforcing a 15 person limit at Art6. When I walked back in Gallery Five the mood changed instantly and what had been a beautiful night to be inspired and surrounded by your fellow hard working peers became something so confusing. People were outraged, upset and so supportive of the gallery owners. I love Richmond. This city is my heart but I can not live in a place where dreams are being censored. This taxation and these attacks on my fellow business owners and art community has to stop. Are these the city’s interest or some personal CAPS interest. Someone needs to look into this.
